Because they 'ain't like any other guys,' Big Bang sang in their song that ‘a girl who met the bad boys was in pain.’ However, because they were different from a slew of other idol groups, they became a ‘good’ group. A rapper does not break dance or the whole team does not move in perfect order like soldiers but the people remember their songs and wait for their next performance.

1. Blue doesn’t seem very appropriate for the streets. It is neither fast nor striking enough to overcome the noise on the street. ‘Bad Boy’ is a similar case. Nevertheless, ‘Fantastic Baby’, which has a fast tempo, will probably be the most suitable for the streets out of the tracks. In other words, the tracks are not catchy enough for everyone to sing along like IU’s ‘Good Day’. Was this risk necessary for Big Bang?

Were you able to have great musicians feature in your album because you already knew them or did you also receive help from your new agency YG Entertainment?
Tablo: Other than Taeyang, I worked with everyone else in no relation to YG. In the case of Naul, I asked him because I knew him from rapping for one of his songs to his Brown Eyed Soul albums and I asked everyone else as well strictly in a professional way.

But the Big Bang we see today is different from that of two years and three months ago. Every member of the group has pursued activities solo, becoming a group a five stars rather than a group in itself, to become that much more uniue. So how did G-Dragon (GD), T.O.P, Taeyang, Seungri and Daesung create the music of Big Bang we hear today? Below are excerpts from 10Asia’s interview with their album’s producer G-Dragon.

The world is defined into before and after the Big Bang. Of course, this is in regards to astrophysics. It was only after the Big Bang that time, space and order came into existence. And it is now that group Big Bang seems to fit their name better than ever -- not because the tracks to their fourth mini-album released in two years and three months has topped various music charts and public broadcaster SBS and cable music channel Mnet created separate comeback programs for them.

10: Well you’re the youngest member of Big Bang and even within YG so don’t you ever get worried people will ask you why you do certain things?
Seungri: Age means nothing in this industry. Even with reporters, a good reporter is one that writes well, no matter how young he or she is, right? It’s the same in our business well. Age means nothing. I think you rather try harder if your young to overcome that perception people have of you.

10: Have you always been so determined about striving forward?
Seungri: I changed when I was promoting “Strong Baby.” So much happened then — I think I could call it the turning point of my life.

10: So what do you think is your style of music? I’m sure it’s different from that of G-Dragon or Taeyang’s who have grown with YG since they were young.
Seungri: I think I work with a variety of genres but it’s mainly pop. Taeyang does black R&B, Daesung authentic ballad, T.O.P hip-hop but dirty sound and G-Dragon likes an extremely wide range of music. I think my style is closer to white music. I like Justin Timberlake and boy bands like ‘N Sync and the Backstreet Boys. But I’m with YG Entertainment so I sang most of my songs in R&B style. I think a lot of people would have looked the other way if I strayed too far from YG’s style since people have a certain level of expectation for who they see as Seungri of YG Entertainment.

10: But “HIGH HIGH” and “OH YEAH” were not composed by you two although they’re the title tracks to your album.

T.O.P: When we first started working together, we wanted to do more heartwarming music. But we needed to take the public into consideration to a certain extent and our CEO thought the same as well so we asked Teddy for his help. We set the direction the details to the songs would take but we somewhat needed to go with a style that people are familiar with.

GD : There actually hadn’t been that many of Teddy’s songs in Big Bang’s albums so far. We always talk about this with Teddy as well but it had been hard to work with him because composers with strong musical tendencies don’t work with each other a lot. But we came to realize that we couldn’t stay like this so we had talked with him from six months ago and reached a conclusion. (laugh) When we get a song from Teddy, he’ll pass a song to us after he comes up with the structure for it. He’ll take his hands off of it completely. Then we’ll talk again to him again to share our opinions. I think these are the two songs we worked on together properly.

10: I think the other units would've been interesting as well.
GD : But it turned out that they're all busy with their individual activities and appearing on variety shows. (laugh) Only T.O.P and I had some time to kill so we ended up working together and producing the most songs together. (laugh) But our other projects were getting pushed back so Yang suggested we try various experiments for Big BaAng’s music in the mean time and then have Big Bang's album itself contain songs with all five of our voices instead of in units. So that's why Seungri's song, which was actually supposed to go into Big Bang's album, will be released in his upcoming solo album and we're releasing our songs separately as well.

10. I believe that the voices of two people have a greater result than a solo singer. In the songs, ‘High high’ and ‘Don’t Go Home(집에가지마)’, GD shows off his awesome flow of rap that give off great vibrations towards the audience. On the other side, TOP gives a more powerful and stronger rap with more impact than GD’s light flow. 
GD: TOP’s voice is very solid and charismatic, whereas my rap is very thin. (Laughs) Together, both of our raps combined to create a harmonious flow of rhythm and beats.
